Based on the true story of Dr. Srinivas Ramchandra Siras who was suspended from his job because of his sexual orientation, Aligarh is Hansal Mehta’s poignant masterpiece. Starring acclaimed actors Manoj Bajpayee as Dr. Siras and Rajkummar Rao as Deepu Sebastian this film has won hearts all over the globe.

‘Queer’ Asia is proud to bring to you, for the first time at SOAS, the film screening of Aligarh on the 11th of November from 6pm at SWLT, Paul Webley Wing, SOAS.

The screeing will be followed by an exciting conversation with Apurva Asrani, the scriptwriter behind Aligarh, Prof. Rachel Dwyer, Professor of Indian Cultures at Cinema at SOAS and J. Daniel Luther, Doctoral Researcher and Co-chair of ‘Queer’ Asia 2016 on the 15th of November from 5pm – 6pm in the DLT, Main Building, SOAS.
