[May 2020] We are pleased to announce that ‘Queer’ Asia will be hosting online film screenings, commencing on June 1 and running throughout June and July. Films are free to watch but if you are able, our filmmakers have suggested community organisations to which you could make suggested donations.

[March 2020] We are sorry to announce that we have decided to cancel this year’s conference and panel discussion, given the ongoing context of Covid-19 in the UK and internationally. International/national travel will be impossible, alongside problems with visa applications and issuance. SOAS University of London, where the conference was to be held, has moved all teaching online and cancelled non-essential events. It is with great sadness that we will not be able to host the ‘Queer’ Asia Conference this year.
However, we are exploring the creation of some form of online resources from this year’s theme and accepted conference submissions. We feel strongly about building online resources for our communities and look forward to sharing some of the wonderful participants’ work who would have joined us in June. We will share an update about this soon.
